Spring Will Come

 How do you turn this...

and this

into springtime?

 By playing a mental game
of imagining these colors and
fields of tulips

and then sewing
Fields of Tulips
50" x 64"
these rows of
spring time colors.

I stitched on the binding Saturday
as the snow continued to fall.
It may not be tulip weather here yet,
but my rows of colors are done.

I started this simple springtime mood enhancer
a few weeks ago, HERE, using
strips of fabrics rather than triangles.

The backing fabric
was no gray winter day either,

This is a great print by Riley Blake
called Sidewalks by October Afternoon.
It definitely made me feel happy.

This fast and easy quilt was the
perfect positive image
I needed to push the winter doldrums away.
I'm starting to feel like spring isn't too far off.

Until Next Time-

  1. Your quilt is so beautiful. Sorry you have snow again. Ours is gone but the temps continue to stay low. My son in the UP still has 4 feet of snow on the ground. Hugs

  2. Hi Kyle,

Your quilt is a breath of "SPRING"! We know sunny and warmer days are just around the corner and will be here the meantime we will have to make our own sunshine making pretty quilts like yours! :)

    Hugs, Carolyn

  3. Your Field of Tulips quilt turned out Fabulous!
The backing fabric is so nice and cheerful - a perfect pairing for your quilt top!

I hope that Spring weather reaches you soon.

  4. wonderful! It says spring! love the backing fabric -
maybe we'll start a wave of chevron quilts

  5. I can see how working on this brightly colored quilt would lift your spirits! Love the colors and the design - very modern looking! Last week I bought some bright fabrics to make a new baby quilt too - we have one due in June. WAY different than what I normally do, but I'm accommodating my daughter and her taste so she'll be happy! I actually think I'll enjoy working on it!

  6. Wonderful Spring quilt to help you thru all of that Snow :-D

  7. Very pretty finish! I am certain you are correct - spring is almost here.

  8. What a lovely quilt to celebrate Spring. Hope the snow melts away soon.

  9. I'm like you, I sew spring colours & quilts to forgot the snow and cold .
