No Dog Days of August Yet

I just got home from a weekend in Denver,
and I'm ready for another weekend to rest.

We were busy helping to redo wood floors, painting,
and a myriad  of other homeowner's jobs
at Elizabeth's and Don's.

It's always a good feeling when you can help
someone out, family or otherwise.
I may be tired, but I'm content.

We have Stashbusters this week at the store
and I'm the presenter.
We've been highlighting the use of strips
from our stashes.

I made this quilt using only fabric from the stash
and cutting strips to use Thangles for the HST's.

It's a pattern, Flying Free,  from Minick and Simpson and
was featured in the 2011
American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine.

I love Americana designs and this one
was hand appliqued and I machine
quilted it as well.
All those one inch half square triangles were easy
to do with the help of Thangles,
which is preprinted paper patterns for
paper piecing these little guys.
It always works perfectly.

I have two more quilts to finish up before
Thursday as well as make cupcakes for class.
No lazy days of summer yet.

I hope we all stop for a moment in our so called
"busy days" and remember those who recently
died for our country
so that flag can fly free.

Until Next Time-
