Count Your Blessings

What a week it's been in
Northern Colorado.
The rain just wouldn't stop and
the flood waters roared down the canyons

taking everything with it
 as they
continued out onto the plains
flooding farm and pasture lands
leaving debris

and broken homes.

My move was only slightly
dampened by the rain,
but my home wasn't swept away by raging water
or flooded and ruined like so many others.
A few wet boxes is nothing like what others
have had to endure.

My boxes will be unpacked and
things will be put away,
but I am reminded continually
throughout the day as the
National Guard helicopters fly overhead
 searching and rescuing stranded families
 how blessed I am.

Until Next Time-

  1. I've been watching the news of our neighboring state with great concern for all I know that live there. Glad you are okay!

  3. Yikes that is a lot of water! Glad you are all OK, best wishes to those families who were flooded and prayers for those who lost their homes completely. I have just been "home" and the recovery from floods they had several years ago (which were not as severe as yours) has only just been completed. Good luck with it all.

  4. I've been hoping that things were okay with you Kyle - thanks for posting to check in. Last summer when we drove up the canyon from Loveland to Estes Park we stopped at a lovely little green park that was built after a devastating flash flood several years earlier - I imagine this is very similar but more severe.

  5. So happy to hear that you didn't sustain any serious damage. Just heard on the news that 400 miles of roads were damaged, or destroyed. It's quite hard to imagine it all.
