Another blog anniversary
has rolled around.
It was in August, 2009
Me, 1954
that I sat down at the computer and began
sharing stories, quilty things, and
other thoughts that fluttered through my mind.
Looking back,
blogging has been a way for me to
document my journey and I've been
so happy that so many of you,
who I refer to as my blogging friends, have
taken the time to ride along with me.
It's been a lovely way for
me to connect with other quilters
of like mind and, more so,
quilters who have challenged me to look beyond
my own comfort zone.
Now it's time
to thank everyone with
with 5 different opportunities to win!
a yummy charm pack a new mini cutting mat
or
star pins for keeping track of blocks or rows, etc....
or
how about a little snap bag with goodies
or maybe this
another cute bag with FQ's.
In order to win
leave a comment
and be sure to become a "follower".
****
Are you a charm pack
collector or do you actually use them?
Running Man will draw
the names of 5 lucky winners at the end of the day,
August 30th.

Life is short.
Enjoy each and every day!
Until Next Time-
Kyle

ReplyDeleteAnother year of beautiful quilts and all those fabulous vintage photos! Congratulations, so happy to have found your blog and become blogging friends!
ReplyDeleteYou were quite the little cutie in that photo! :) congrats on your anniversary !
ReplyDeleteDo I see garter belts in that last photo? Ha, ha. I haven't seen those in quite some time. Congrats on your blog anniversary!
ReplyDeleteKyle felicidades por tu magnifico blog!!!
ReplyDeleteme encantan estas fotos antiguas
¡¡la ultima con los ligeros es fantástica!!
You are so creative with your blog. It is always entertaining...fun photos and even a poem now and then. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy happy blog anniversary! I love to blog for all those reasons too!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, Kyle! I am thrilled to share your journey. You are so clever in your posts and such a talented quilter. I looks forward to years of more clever, creative fun!!
ReplyDeleteBeing from neighboring states, you'd think we could manage to meet at some point, but I know I have only been to Colorado once in all the time I have followed you, and that was a very quick trip to pick up cannabis oil for my grandson with the seizure disorder.
Had a good laugh at the last photo--totally scandalous!
Congratulations! 8 years is quite a milestone. I don't buy or use charm packs, they just don't stand up to the pre-wash I have to do.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation Kyle!! Your blog is so full of inspiration and fun! You look adorable with your typewriter 😀 I love being bloggy friends with you!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your blog for some time and now I am a follower....
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
What a sweet picture of you, and Happy Anniversary. To answer your question, I am a hopeless charm pack collector (more like hoarder actually). I collect the packets from my favorite designers and "historical references" for future quilters (wink). I do occasionally use them, but only if I have a second one in the closet. I also keep a 5" square of every fabric I buy. I hit the 5,000 square mark quite a while ago. I blame Cyndi (Busy Thimble) for my addiction, but I know it is truly my own fault! Thanks for writing such a great Blog. Yours is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeletealways use them! using one right now A Old follower
ReplyDeleteOh, you were (and still are) a cutie pie :) That is such a sweet photograph. As always, I enjoy all of your vintage photos, that last one took me by surprise, Ooo la la, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried working with the charm packs . . . I guess I have always thought they would be too big of a challenge. Call me chicken. This is a wonderful give-a-way you are so generous and thoughtful to your blogging friends. Happy Blogging Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary--8 years is something to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteI buy and use especially CW reproduction charm packs but others sometimes too. Like Monica, I still prewash them (a little crazy I know, lol). I use them for hand piecing small blocks and love the fabric variety it gives me. Occasionally I order extra yardage if I like a particular fabric a lot. Love your childhood photo--so sweet!
Wow, great prizes! Congratulations on your anniversary, what a nice way to celebrate. I used to collect fat quarters of reproduction fabrics, until I decided fat quarters were for wimps and moved onto half meter lengths! I have never been a big charm pack gatherer, I have mainly used them rather then collect, thanks to a couple of books that specialise in patterns for pre cuts.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and thank you for blogging! Always such a joy to read about your "doings" and lovely to count you among my blogging friends too.
ReplyDeleteOMG--thank goodness we don't have to wear hose like that anymore--yikes! I collect lots of charms packs and occasionally use them, but not in "charm" patterns. I guess I treat them more like scraps and dig through them when I need the "perfect" fabric. Congrats on your anniversary!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on your blogging anniversary! Please keep it up! While I do use some of my charm packs, I guess I have to consider myself a collector too as I have some that can only be called "vintage" that I have not had time or ideas for yet.
ReplyDeleteI use most charm packs, they're very handy. I love your photos, the last one in this post made me lol.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary. I use charm packs often - in many ins, small pieced hocks and more.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, Kyle. You're an inspiration to me.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I always smile when I see you have a post up. Thank you for taking the time to make such fun, inspiring, and interesting posts. I'm so grateful to have found you and your blog!
ReplyDeleteWhat great prizes and how nice to have multiple winners!
count me in for the fun.
Congratulations on another anniversary! I so enjoy reading your blog and love all the vintage photos you find and post. They always make me smile. Thanks for another great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary !! I use charm packs a lot Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway !
ReplyDeleteIt's been an absolute pleasure to follow your blog Kyle - congratulations on the milestone!! Your posts are always refreshing and amusing - with lovely projects beautifully photographed, and of course the retro photos to make us laugh! I buy the odd charm pack as a sampler - very handy for solid colours. I've also a few repro packs that get raided regularly for applique pieces :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blog anniversary. I have read your blog from time to time and enjoy your use of photographs. I don't "do facebook" so I don't "follow" blogs, but I do enjoy reading them. Keep up the nice work.

Happy anniversary! I look forward to hearing about more of your quilty adventures!
ReplyDeletehappy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteAnother year come & gone? Doesn't seem possible! Congrats on the milestone! I have several charm packs, but rarely use them cuz I never know whether to measure from the outside of the pinked edge, or the inside. Guess I should really figure that out someday! LOL
ReplyDeleteAlways a treat to see all the old but very fun pictures! Congrats on another blogiversary! You're one of my faves Kyle! I confess to rarely buying charm packs and when I do, they generally end up mixed up with the scrap bin bits.:) Oh well. They get used there eventually!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on another blogiversary! I have a few :-) charm packs. I guess they are waiting for the perfect project.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blog's anniversary. I have made some wall hangings with charm packs, but still have 3 or 4 to sew up. I lioke them, but I prefer 10 inch squares or fat eighths.
ReplyDeletehappy blogiversary. I've used pieces out of my charm packs but don't think I've ever used a whole charm pack in the same project. I like having variety in my quilt projects.
