Look What Happened

I know the Super Bowl is
now history,
but the story of
deflated footballs is still
high on the
news media's agenda.
All of this hoopla has caused
a trickle down effect.

Look.
I have deflated footballs.

They were suppose to be touching,
but I couldn't get any of them to do it.
The mistake has to be in my tracing.
No wait,
I never touched those templates.

So in order to preserve
my applique prowess,
the only thing to do
is to create a cover up.

There,
 no one will ever know
what happened.

PS  This is no way a reflection
on real life football.

 Until Next Time-

  2. good solution. It looks like the person who drafted the pattern forgot the 1/4 inch that they all would have to have in order to meet when finished.
    Thats frustrating

  4. I don’t think it was you. They don’t touch on Di’s quilt either.

  6. Well Kyle - here in Packerland - where we are still stinging from that loss to Seattle, my footballs don't meet point to point either - Love your solution!! Very clever!! I might just leave mine as is and indicate on the back label that the quilt was made during the era of "deflategate"
Your post is a delight as always!

  11. Isn't it great when a cover up doesn't just cover but adds an extra sparkle as well.

  12. The border looks all the better for the addition of the circles...but they are so incredibly tiny, how did you manage them!

  13. I don't think it would have been a problem if you'd left them as they were - since they were so evenly spaced it looked like they were supposed to be that way - but your solution adds a great new element to the design. Good job!
