Are these flowers or snowflakes?
It's hard to tell in Colorado.
I've been working on hexagon blocks
for the Di Ford's pattern, Route 66.
They're as addictive as
chocolate Easter eggs.
They just take a lot longer to make
than unwrapping a piece of chocolate.
If the weather stays warm,
I'll call them flowers.
If not,
they'll be snowflakes for
a little while longer.
We'll have to wait and see.
Oh, oh,
did I just see a snowflake
drift by the window?
Until Next Time-
Oh, oh,
did I just see a snowflake
drift by the window?
Pretty! I like your fussy cutting.
ReplyDeleteOh if only hexies grew on trees! How many lovely quilts we could make. I love these photos, what a fun idea. You can stay warm inside making more until spring really does arrive.
ReplyDeletePretty wonderful snowflakes there! Springtime in Colorado sounds a lot like spring in western NY state, 65 one day and snow the next. But spring does eventually prevail...hopefully soon!
ReplyDeleteYour 'snowflakes' are gorgeous!! I can't wait to see your finished blanket of snow! YIkes what did I just say?...let's change that to... a field of wildflowers!! Much better! Spring is just around the corner and so is your magnificent quilt!
ReplyDeleteP
Whatever they are, they sure look cute pegged to the trees! What a fun idea. It looks like you're off to a really lovely start with this one. :D
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness your hexies are so lovely. They look fabulous hanging in the tree. Now I want to start a Route 66. Such a pretty quilt and I love your fabric choices and fussy cutting.
ReplyDeleteYour hexie blocks look so beautiful pinned up in that pretty Pine tree!
ReplyDeleteAll of your fussy cuts are so lovely ... your Route 66 is going to be stunning.
They are beautiful whatever you call them! It's going to be a gorgeous quilt. Looks like you have quite a few made already. Yeah those chocolate eggs are sure addictive... :0)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful no matter what you call them!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hexie blocks! Your fussy cutting makes them extra special! I am going to be optmistic and call them flowers, they look so lovely on your tree. (By the way we had snow yesterday!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Did your neighbors take a video of this? hehe
ReplyDeleteAt first look they did look like flowers :-D
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Hexie blocks !
Hexies are SO much fun - love the fussy cutting you've done on some of these. What size papers are you using? I'll have to do a search and see if I can find a picture of the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty, they will pass as either to me, because I love both. Your fabric choices, and fussy cutting have made some really pretty flower/flakes.
ReplyDeleteI admire those of you that find hexies addictive. If I did, maybe I would have a finished hexie project, instead of two UFOs. : )
Beautiful! How did you piece them together? EPP? Your blocks look perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove your flowers and/or snowflakes hanging on the tree :) They are so pretty. Great fussy-cutting, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kyle - you are clearly in the middle of hexagon mania there! what size are your hexagons? Using papers?
ReplyDeleteCute, Cute, Cute!
ReplyDeletePrachtig.
ReplyDeleteSeeing your beautiful hexies makes me want to return to mine and make some progress
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind snow in Florida if it were the kind hanging in your pine tree. I'd gather up enough for a quilt or two in no time.
ReplyDeleteYour hexi flowers are beautiful Kyle. I always enjoy your fun photo shoots!!
ReplyDeleteSweet snowflakes......or flowers.........xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great start to your journey down Di's Route 66 - such a wonderful quilt - aren't they all! Snowflakes here too in the northwoods - fortunately the kind that melt quickly this time of year!! I much prefer your more permanent hexies!
ReplyDeleteFUn photo shoot with your hexies. The fussy cutting is great and really adds lots of interest
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Kyle. Given the date on the calendar I say you call them flowers, but this weekend we are getting hit with a Polar Vortex so they might be snowflakes for the next few days. Either way, they are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful and I just love your original displays :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful "snowflowers"!
ReplyDeleteWow they are amasing.
